This 1859 woodblock by Utagawa Hirokage is from his 1859 woodblock series "Comical Views of Famous Places in Edo". This is number 21, "Cherry-blossom Viewing at the Middle Hall and the Double Hall in Ueno" and features people chasing each other and falling down in a courtyard adorned with blooming cherry blossoms while people in the background partake in the hanami sakura or "cherry blossom viewing".
Hirokage was a student of the famous printmaker Hiroshige, and this series is a parody of Hiroshige's 100 Famous Views of Edo as well as some of Hokusai's works. The print is in good condition for its age, with no known rips, tears or holes, and bold colors.
