There are 2 screws that hold it on. Once the top is off you can fill the seed. Caring for the roof, we recommend using a clear overspray (such as Rust-Oleum 2X) at least once a year for added protection against possible fading/discoloration. Does not include the pole or sleeve. The post, as shown in the picture, has a vinyl sleeve cover on it. The feeder sits right over the top of a 4X4 post. Minimal assembly required.
