Description
Retro51 is proud to announce the Rhinelander Pitcher Rollerball Pen to the officially licensed The Metropolitan Museum of Art pen collection. This artful pen is inspired by the intricate detailing on a fine silver pitcher created in 1874 or 1875 by Tiffany & Co. under the direction of Edward C. Moore, who oversaw the production of a diverse array of exquisitely wrought and highly original silver creations. This pitcher, which exemplifies the company’s engagement with Near Eastern and Indian art, was presented by Julia Rhinelander to her niece Mary in 1883 on the occasion of Mary's wedding. This acid-etched Tornado™️ pen barrel reinterprets the pitcher’s decorations. You will be able to feel the fine details of the garlands, dahlias, lotus flowers, and other exotic vegetation featured on The Met’s vessel when you hold this pen in hand. It has been finished with a stonewashed pewter to reflect the original patinated silver. The accents are in a matching pewter finish that showcases The Met logo plus the numbered engraving of this smooth rollerball refill. Each pen is packaged in a commemorative Met tube that doubles as a pen stand or carrying case when not in use, and includes a small informative print inside. Whatever the occasion, treat a loved one or yourself to this beautiful Retro51 pen.
