Beautiful Colorado Pine wooden bowl with three painted beads. The beads were painted with "Flag Red" Milk Paint from www.realmilkpaint.com. Milk Paint is a non-toxic paint that uses a protein found in milk which is how it gets it's name. The paint comes in powder form and is then mixed with water. It is food safe, environmentally friendly, and 100% organic.
The bowl had a small crack in the rim that I filled and stabilized with clear glue, and then to further stabilize the crack I added a Maple patch (or spline). The patch is only 1" long to give you an idea of size, and the patch was cut out with a laser which gives it a black outline. The pictures show the bowl from all 4 sides.
The bowl measures 12-1/2" x 4". This is a nice size bowl for salad, pasta, veggies, popcorn, fruit, etc.
The bowl was finished with multiple coats of Danish Oil to give it a food safe and durable finish. To me quality is not just in how the bowl is made or what type of wood is used, quality also means using the best finish you can if you want your bowl to last and look good for years. Hand wash only, use and care instructions are provided.
