This impressive looking 8 day cuckoo clock was made in the Black Forest of Germany during the 1970's by Emil Schmeckenbecher. It is nicely carved and highly detailed with a light cabin brown finish that is extremely attractive. It has a hand carved wooden deer head, rabbit and grouse.
The original standard 8 day Regula movement is in good condition. It has been cleaned and serviced, so runs and cuckoos properly.
This is the large Schmeckenbecher model measuring 14 ΒΌ" wide across the top piece, and 24" high from the antler tips to the bottom of the case, NOT counting the huge weights or pendulum.
Large vintage running 8 day cuckoo clocks in good condition are getting harder and harder to find and are becoming a favorite among many clock enthusiasts.
