Large 8 Day German Schmeckenbecher Black Forest Hunter Cucko

This impressive looking 8 day cuckoo clock was made in the Black Forest of Germany during the 1970's by Emil Schmeckenbecher. It is nicely carved and highly detailed with a light cabin brown finish that is extremely attractive. It has a hand carved wooden deer head, rabbit and grouse. The original standard 8 day Regula movement is in good condition. It has been cleaned and serviced, so runs and cuckoos properly. This is the large Schmeckenbecher model measuring 14 ¼" wide across the top piece, and 24" high from the antler tips to the bottom of the case, NOT counting the huge weights or pendulum. Large vintage running 8 day cuckoo clocks in good condition are getting harder and harder to find and are becoming a favorite among many clock enthusiasts.
